Happy bracelet

This bracelet is a hodgepodge of colors and techniques that just seems to work for me in a very festive way. It makes me happy.

Genio Atrapado

I was playing around with gold clay trying to learn mica shift techniques and started making filigree type designs. This led to the genie bracelets as shown in the picture. I like them so much I made 24 in different color combinations. I can't make any more for a while since I've developed some type of carpal tunnel type wrist problem from making so many beads so fast. Sigh...

The Eyes Have It

I love this bead set! I started out with a HUGE cane of two brown eyes with olive green shadowing. Then I chopped it up so that I would have eyes in the bracelet looking up at you, but more in an abstract way. It's the first bracelet I am considering "etsy-worthy". If I don't chicken out, I'll put it in my shop. Fingers crossed, breath held, face squinched up and making a wish that someone else out there likes this as much as I do.

Mermaid Singing

From "The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock":...

Shall I part my hair behind? Do I dare to eat a peach?
I shall wear white flannel trousers, and walk upon the beach.
I have heard the mermaids singing, each to each.

I do not think that they will sing to me...

Pinkalicious

This bracelet was the result of playing around with millefiori black and white caning. I added the Pepto pink for a more feminine touch. A lot of fun to make. A lot of fun to wear.

Mexican skirt

I love the colors and textures of Mexican textiles. This bracelet was inspired by a lovely Mexican skirt I saw in a book. I can just imagine Frida Kahlo wearing it.

Workspace

Just a picture today of my work table. Everything starts out with some blobs of clay, a toothpick, and my trusty potter's rib.
